This patient had suffered for years with moderate bunion deformity that gave her a great deal of difficulty in shoes. This patient had received injections to calm down the pain in her big toe joint. Finally she decided to undergo surgery. The type of surgery selected was a metatarsal head osteotomy procedure. This procedure has the advantage of allowing early weightbearing. This patient was able to do most of the activities of daily living within a week or so if her surgery. She returned to full activity after about a month.
